Drawing Closer to Nature
A Well-City Salisbury creative course for well-being from Wiltshire Creative and artist Elizabeth Hammond.
Connections. Nature. Balance. Expression. Attention. Freedom.
Drawing Closer to Nature returns for a face-to-face creative course using art and drawing for well-being from Wiltshire Creative, led by artist Elizabeth Hammond.
This course is about discovering and harnessing the benefits of nature through art for well-being. Participants will take time together to notice and explore the beauty of our changing landscape as we move from Winter to Spring using natural objects.
Everyone can benefit from time in nature. This course will invite you to explore nature around you creatively helping you learn about yourself, others, and your environment. It will include a walk and draw session within local gardens.
You will be taught techniques including drawing with graphite, painting with inks and bleach via brushes and natural objects, charcoal; using wax resist; air dry clay, and collage.
These skills will help you continue exploring nature following the conclusion of the project, supplying lasting benefits to your creativity and well-being.
An (optional but encouraged!) welcome session will take place on 8 January, 10-11:30am and will be an opportunity to meet the project team and other participants over a slice of cake and cup of tea!
An (optional but encouraged!) celebration session will take place on 18 March, 10-11:30am and will be an opportunity to meet up with fellow participants, artist, project team and celebrate all your creative achievements.
You do not need to have experience or even consider yourself artistic to take part, sessions will be accessible for beginners.
All materials are provided and this course is available for adults 20+.
