A Well-City Salisbury creative course for wellbeing from Wessex Archaeology and artist Carolyn Rudge.
Exploring archaeology, folklore and stories through printmaking.
Join Wessex Archaeology and artist Caroline Rudge for a 10-week printmaking course. Throughout the course we will hear from experts from Wessex Archaeology about the links between archaeology and folklore, myths and tales, stories from the landscape and of the people who once lived there.
Led by Caroline, we will explore a range of printmaking techniques using linocut and block printing as a medium to represent these stories. From pattern making, letter formation, graphic elements, to printing on fabric, embossing on clay, and making more complex imagery with multiblocks, colour and collage.
You might have a story or tale of your own that you’d like to capture in print, if so, this could be the course for you!
Sessions will run on a Tuesday between 10.30pm – 1pm and will take place at the Reading Rooms in Stratford Sub Castle. This venue is on a bus route and there is ample free parking outside. The dates for the sessions are:
Tuesday 29 April, Welcome Session: A chance to meet the team, see the venue, have a cup of tea and meet other participants prior to the course starting. This is a shorter session and will take place from 11 – 12:30pm.

Tuesday 8 July, Reflection & Celebration session: A chance to come together, celebrate everyone’s time together over a cup of tea and slice of cake. This is a shorter session and will take place from 11 – 12:30pm.
