A Well-City Salisbury creative course for well-being from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and artist Jo Beal.

Step outside and discover the quiet wonder of winter.

In this creative online course, we’ll explore the season through its fascinating natural textures, shapes, colours and folklore, uncovering beauty in places that are often overlooked.

From what we can see, hear and feel on the stillness of a frosty morning to the hidden wonders of hibernation, seed pods and the first signs of new growth, we’ll observe winter with fresh eyes. Through playful drawing exercises, expressive mark making, art journaling and collage, you’ll build a personal visual journal inspired by the natural world.

This online course will help you slow down, connect with nature and find inspiration in winter’s quieter moments.

What’s it all about?

Our creative courses are for people living in Salisbury specifically within the SP1 – SP5 postcodes and are ideally suited to those with low to medium mental health needs– like anxiety, depression, low mood, stress, and feelings of social isolation.

The courses and support offered are designed for those looking to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing, connect with others, meet new people in a safe and supportive environment, explore new creative skills or learn more about local heritage and culture.

Well-City Salisbury primarily uses a social prescribing model where participants are referred/signposted onto a course by their GP practice, support organisations or school wellbeing team, for example. However, we also welcome self-referrals if that route doesn’t work for people and where they currently are on their wellbeing journey. Both referral routes require completing a referral form which can be found below.

This course is free to attend, available for adults 20+, all materials and refreshments are provided.
