Created in collaboration with our artists and participants, these resources include our Participant Wellbeing Pack and a series of Activity Sheets inspired by the experiences and creativity shared during recent Well-City Salisbury courses.
Each activity is designed to help you relax, explore your creativity and enjoy making, in your own time, wherever you are.

VIEW THE PARTICIPANT WELLBEING PACKHearth & Home with Wessex Archaeology
This course was delivered by project partner, Wessex Archaeology and artist Jo Beal.
This course invited participants to uncover stories of the past and reflect on their own connections to home, history, and everyday objects through art journaling.
Inspired by fascinating insights from Wessex Archaeology’s experts, participants explored remarkable artefacts from the organisation’s collection alongside personal items from their own homes, kitchens, and gardens.
What everyday objects shape who you are?
Look closely at the familiar items around your home, kitchen or garden. These ordinary objects carry stories, memories and meaning. Take time to explore your surroundings and choose a few objects that feel significant to you and respond to them creatively. You might even make your own paint using coffee and tea, be curious!
Creative Hibernation with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust
This course was delivered by project partner, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and artist Emma Kerr.
Throughout the course participants explored a rich variety of invitations designed to make, explore and be in nature. Using the winter season as our inspiration and Langford Lakes as our base we noticed how this quieter time of year can spark imagination and encourage reflection.
Silence, stillness, and the gentle pace of winter shaped our journey, helping us tune into patterns, preparation, and the beauty of the natural world around us.
You are now invited to take part in a mindful moment, taking time to observe nature, and record what you notice through a number of creative invitations, wherever you are.
Colour & Light with Wiltshire Creative
This course was delivered by project partner, Wiltshire Creative and glass maker Helen Southwell.
Designed especially for Bemerton Heath residents, this vibrant course explored the science of light, the history of stained glass and the contemporary possibilities of glass fusion.
Participants created individual fused glass artworks inspired by trips to Salisbury Art Centre and The Salisbury Cathedral and collaborated on a communal piece to be permanently displayed within the community, celebrating both creativity and local identity.

Remedies Exploring Healing Practices
This course was delivered by project partner, ArtCare and artist Tamsin Loveday.
In this course participants learnt about how people in Salisbury were cared for in the past, drawing inspiration from old records, site visits and the Salisbury History’s Collection. Participants explored the hospitals library, pharmacy and a visit to the Physic Garden in Petersfield to learn about herbal medicine and even uncovered some fascinating folk cures!
Inspired by the remedies explored on this course, you are invited to create your own personal remedy jar. Think about the things that nurture your wellbeing and connect with all your senses, touch, sight, hearing, taste, and even smell and fill your jar!
Wild Art: Exploring Nature in Art
This course was delivered by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and artist James Aldridge.
Participants embarked on a series of mini journeys through the natural landscape, following curiosity and whim to discover the wild spaces around us. Along the way, participants created individual artworks inspired by found objects in the natural landscape.

Imprint: Exploring Archaeology, Folklore and Stories Through Printmaking
This course was delivered by Wessex Archaeology and artist Caroline Rudge.
Throughout the course participants heard from experts from Wessex Archaeology about the links between archaeology and folklore, myths and tales, stories from the landscape and of the people who once lived there.
What objects do you have round the house that come with a story? Look for interesting textures or marks, what could you print with?
Grab some ink and lets getting printing! If you don’t have any lino, don’t worry, the foam boards from pizza boxes or similar packaging works just as well. Don’t forget to play around with colour, shape and collage!
Sketching in the Landscape with ArtCare and Nick Andrew
This course with delivered by Art Care and artist Nick Andrew.
Each week participants took a gentle stroll in the local landscape and with the guidance of artist Nick Andrew explored different sketching techniques and materials as well as writing in our sketch books things experienced, such as wildlife, sounds, the weather and more.
Look around you, what landscape surrounds you right now? Whether it’s a view from your window, a potted plant on your kitchen table, or garden!
Here’s your invitation to grab some paper and a pen, find a quiet moment and focus your attention on what’s in front of you.
Imprint: Exploring Archaeology, Folklore and Stories Through Printmaking
We are excited to have 2 activity sheets created by Caroline! What objects do you have round the house that features lots of interesting textures or marks?
Grab some playdough and experiment with pressing in different fabrics or textured items. Don’t forget to explore colours and layering!
Try out different combinations and see what happens!
Inspired by the Past: Pot Making with Salisbury Museum
This course was delivered by guest delivery partner, Salisbury Museum artist Jane Staniland.
In this course participants learnt ancient pot making techniques including how to make coil pots, pinch pots and slab pots and explore mark-making, decorative and glazing techniques. Participants were inspired by the new Ceramics Gallery and Wessex Gallery of archaeology at the museum and had the rare opportunity to handle and study ceramic artefacts from the stores.
Take a moment for yourself and explore some natural form drawing from the activity sheet, still life and memory. Let your mind wander as your observe the natural objects you have around you and begin to sketch.
Add different images to your drawing and see where your imagination takes you!
