The Nature of Archaeology with Wessex Archaeology

15 April - 17 June 2024

Participants joined artist Sue Martin and members from Wessex Archaeology’s environmental team to explore what we can learn from what natures leaves behind and how tiny things tell big stories.

Using only natural materials including natural vegetation dyes, linen canvases and resources sourced by walks in the Old Sarum landscape, participants created close studies of flora and fauna in their intricate and delicate paintings.

This course also benefited from the introduction of Tibetan singing bowls at each session, allowing for moments of relaxion and contemplation.
